From the East

Brethren, I want to congratulate you all on the passing of the land deal with the Torah Academy. This is truly a great deal for the Lodge. This deal will solidify the financial foundation of our beloved Lodge for many future generations.

In the coming days I will be reaching out to Brothers to form a Committee. This Committee will mainly be built of Brothers already serving on the financial Committee to bring back suggestions to the Craft, on what they deem as the best way to make sure the proceeds from the sell are set up to best serve the Lodge.

On October 20th we will be having an EA Degree. I hope to see everyone there. This will be a called communication.

Officers, please note, that now we are entering into fall, please make sure to wear either your tuxedo or a black suite and tie.

Thank you all for your supposed

God Bless

Fraternally,

W∴ Anthony W. Denton

From the Secretary

Greeting Brethren, a healthy congratulations to W:. Denton for all the months of

hard work negotiating the Torah Academy deal. Upon balloting I am happy to say

it was a 100% unanimous acceptance. Grand Lodge has also approved of the

transaction. We now move forward with our attorneys working on our behalf. I

heard a Brother question if we will still be required to pay yearly membership

dues once the money is in our hands and the answer is simple, yes. First off, we

don’t want to be a lodge that will attract Brothers who do not want to pay dues or

pay much. We will attract the wrong characteristics of a Brother. Secondly the

intent is to invest the capital so that we have interest funds for many years, these

funds can be used for repairs and improvements to our building, scholarships can

be offered and relief - charity money more attainable etc. Brethren, the finance

committee, and officers have studied and reviewed what is in the best interest of

the Lodge, Brothers and future and are planning accordingly.

2023 dues notices will be mailed out the week of October 13th . Please remit dues

on a timely manner as the lodge depends on these funds to operate. For those

Brothers who still have not paid their 2022 dues, you are now one year past due

and have or will shortly receive your third letter and final notice. If you are

dropped, you just cannot pay dues and be in good standing again. You must first

have a background check ran, submit a reinstatement petition, have a home visit

investigation by three Brothers, and lasty be balloted on. Why put yourself

through this process? E- statements have already been mailed to you, please

remit your 2022 dues, and remain a Mason in good standing.

I would say for the last ten years the lodge has grown like never before. I credit

this to the business idea of “Re-engineering the Corporation”. For those who are

not aware of this concept it is simply, keep your business, association, house of

worship etc. up with the times. A simple example is self-checkout in stores.

Walmart for one, in certain stores has eliminated individual checkouts. Isn’t it

frustrating choosing a line then getting stuck when the person’s having difficulty

with their charge card. Walmart adopted a one line for all branching out to

several checkouts. No more getting stuck behind a problem. Of course, there

are many other in-depth examples which I leave to you to investigate.

The bottom line is simple, keep abreast of new cultures, trends, innovations, and

individual patterns of behavior and modify your business to accommodate them.

Our lodge has re-engineered itself every few years which is the smart thing to do

if you want to grow, survive and be a leader in the industry (for us a leader in

either the District or Jurisdiction). We have our fine officers, committeemen and

Brothers who pitch in and make this happen.

My Brothers,

With the importance of education in the Ritual work of our fraternity, we are blessed to have such a strong District instructing team available to help. We are excited to provide a School of Instruction every Saturday morning at Harmonia Lodge including at Open Books every third Saturday (WITH A GOURMET BREAKFAST FOR $8.00) prepared by chef

Lou. We will also be providing a School of Instruction on the first Monday of the month at every MMA meeting. We are delighted and eager now to welcome ALL Masons, that includes Entered Apprentices and Fellow Crafts to Open Books with an RSVP to me from their Worshipful Master or Secretary of his Lodge. Please contact me if you have any questions, or comments, or would like information on receiving a proficiency card for

the hard work you have put in. We are also now in the process of putting together a District competition team in the Fellow Craft Degree, please contact me to join.

Upcoming District 25

Master Mason Degree teams

(part 1)

My Brothers,

The statewide Degree competition for this year will be held for Master Mason Degree (part 1). Our goal is to have multiple teams competing from the 25th Masonic District. These teams can be from each Lodge, or we can have multiple Lodges getting together to form one team. If you are not totally proficient in this Degree, please do not be worried. We will have multiple practices at different Lodges around the District to get everyone up to speed. At these practices, we will be having in-depth instruction on all the ritual and esoteric work in part 1 of Master Mason Degree as mandated by the Committee on Work. Any Master Mason in good standing is eligible to participate, and it will provide you an enhanced knowledge of the ritual and floorwork of Master Mason Degree as well as an increase in comradery with the Brothers of our District. Please reach out to me if you have any interest in joining the Degree teams and representing the 25th Masonic District.

Strength in Numbers

Power in Education

From the District Instructor

My Brothers,

In order to improve your Masonic knowledge try taking the Master Mason 1 2 3 exams On the Grand Lodge website it’s an excellent method to learn to use the Masonic Digest and Mentors Manual. Just complete the three Master Mason Examinations, offered by the Grand Lodge. These examinations have proven very popular as they produce more

friendships, more knowledge of Florida masonry, better informed Brothers and an increase in Lodge attendance.

Also, they are MANDATORY for anyone sitting in the chair of Worshipful Master, Senior

Warden or Junior Warden.

Follow the instructions below:

2. Click on “Education”

3. Take Exams 1, 2 & 3

The Grand Lodge of Florida developed this comprehensive course of study to instruct Brothers on the proper procedures and responsibilities of each Lodge Officer, and how to conduct the important business of their particular Lodge. Courses are presented by the District Chairman, and a certificate is issued upon successful completion of all 15

modules.

The Grand Lodge of Florida provides Master Mason Examinations to be open book type exams designed to give any Master Mason the opportunity to increase his knowledge of some of the Ancient Tenets, Rules, and Regulations of Masonry. They contain a mixture of multiple choice, True or False, or essay questions which should be answered on the answer sheet, as provided in the exam downloads.

The Grand Lodge of Florida encourages all members of the Craft to further their knowledge of Lodge operation, especially those concerning the Elected and Appointed

Officers of each particular Lodge. The Lodge Officers Training program was designed to educate and test your knowledge of Lodge procedures, business, penal code, and other areas. Let There Be Light
