From the East

Dear Esteemed Brethren,

It is with great honor that I reflect on another year of service to our esteemed fraternity. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all officers and members whose dedication has contributed to yet another successful and accomplished year. With the election of new officers, I am confident that we will continue to thrive and achieve even greater heights in the coming year.

I am pleased to announce that the endowment fund will begin collaborating with the financial committee to judiciously invest and preserve the $1,000,000 from the partial sale of our land. While celebrating our achievements, let us remain focused on completing essential projects such as the parking lot, portico, and library.

In positive news, the permit to address the roof issue is in its final stages of approval, and work is expected to commence soon.

Wishing you all a joyous holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished moments.

From the West

Dear Beloved Brethren,

In these challenging times, let us unite in prayer, seeking the triumph of good over evil.

With a renewed sense of unity and camaraderie, I wholeheartedly encourage all our Brothers to actively cultivate connections beyond the Lodge's walls. Our monthly gathering at the Cinemark Bistro, held on the last Saturday of every month, provides an ideal opportunity for such fellowship. Stay updated on event details and dates by visiting our website at https://www.bocadelray171.org/event.

The Finance Committee briefly paused in November as we prepared for a crucial vote on the endowment fund. Should any Brother have questions or concerns about our Lodge's finances, please get in touch with me directly.

Let us also dedicate a moment to enrich our Masonic knowledge. I urge every Brother to revisit or explore our Masonic Etiquette, accessible by clicking here: [Masonic Etiquette - GL208](https://www.grandlodgefl.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/GL-208-Masonic-Etiquette-Booklet-1.pdf).

In the spirit of continuous learning, I'd like to share insights on DISCUSSION IN LODGE:

"DISCUSSION IN LODGE:

All sectarian discussion, all argument or statement pro or con as to the merits of civil politics, or any given religion or theological creed, of racial questions, or private business, or of any other non-Masonic subject by which Masons might be divided into classes, feuds, schisms, or opposed schools, is at all times forbidden. It is strictly forbidden to discuss a petitioner or for a Mason to reveal how he has voted or in any way to seek to persuade members to vote one way or another on a petitioner.

All uses of personalities, all expressions of bitterness or ill will, acrimoniousness, and all or any slurs upon the Lodge or its Officers, Grand Lodge or its Officers, and the Fraternity itself, and all flippant, unseemly, or discourteous remarks addressed to the Lodge or to its Officers are condemned alike by the principles of common courtesy and etiquette and by the disciplinary laws of the Craft.

This is not to say that a Master Mason, particularly one who has acted as a Representative in Grand Lodge, should not inform the Craft fully and completely as to what has taken place in Grand Lodge. Such a report can be rendered truthfully and with dignity and without the use of personalities, and this rule, of course, should always he observed.

A Brother wishing to participate in a discussion in open Lodge should always rise and address the Worshipful Master. He should speak on the subject at issue in the fewest possible words, not using his privilege of the floor as an opportunity to deliver a speech merely for its own sake."

Let us strengthen our fraternity by fostering open communication and support among our Brothers. Remember, whether you wish to contribute or require assistance, reach out - we are here for each other!

As we step into December, may it be a month filled with happiness. I look forward to the pleasure of your company in our Lodge.

In our upcoming December meeting, we will conduct the election for officers for the year 2024. I am seeking your trust and support as I am running for the East in 2024. Your endorsement means a lot to me, and I am grateful for the support and confidence you have already shown. I am committed to maintaining the Lodge's positive direction, following the exemplary leadership of our previous Masters. Thank you sincerely for your ongoing support!

Fraternally,

S.W. Rafael Nioac de Salles

From the South

Greetings from the South Brethren!!!

I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving! As the year ends soon, I wanted to thank all of you for your participation this year, in all that we have done as a lodge. Weather you helped with a degree, or cleaning and reorganizing after the construction, maybe you just filled up a Thanksgiving box, whatever it may have been, Thank you.

I also wanted to say thank you for allowing me to serve the lodge as Junior Warden this year. It's been a great learning experience for me, in the most fun way possible. We still have a couple meals left together and I hope to make them just as delicious as they have been all year long. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the lodge over this holiday season

All the best,

J.W. Nick Richard

From the Secretary

Fraternal Greeting Brethren. We approach the end of a very successful year. Through the hard work and efforts of our Worshipful Master, officers and Brethren, the lodge room has been completely renovated. I would venture to say that we have one of the most attractive lodge rooms in the Jurisdiction (Florida). Still to be worked on is the new parking lot.

Aside from our renovations, I congratulate our Junior Warden, Brother Nick Richard and the Stewards for preparing wonderful meals. This is no easy task and one of a Brother’s challenges in going through the chairs and attaining the office of a Worshipful Master. Brother Eric Figueroa kept the lodge spotless and orderly as we never found anything in disarray. A hearty congratulations goes out to our Treasurer W:. Denton who developed more accurate and accountable methods as well as a means of receiving and remitting electronic payments.

We all know a coin has two sides and yes, we have a negative to report. To date we have nine Brothers who have not remitted their 2023 lodge dues and will be dropped as members in good standing on December 27 th 2023. Their names will be read at the first meeting in December and the craft will vote to drop them as NPD (Non-Payment of Dues). Several letters were mailed to them, phone calls and emails as well, all to no avail, no responses. Upon hearing these names and recognizing some, you may like to reach out and ask the Brother why he has not remitted his yearly dues and remind him of all he will lose in not being in good standing.

I have informed all the NPD’s that if they decide to be reinstated as a later date, they cannot imply pay their current dues. They must submit to a background check, hand the Secretary a reinstatement petition, be investigates and ballot on again. Also, these Brothers cannot join another lodge in Florida or anywhere in the Country as they retain the status of NPD. Those lodges will contact the Grand Lodge of Florida for a Letter of Good Standing first.

In closing, I wish all newly elected and appointed officers the very best of luck for the upcoming year. They have a strong foundation and many seasoned Brothers to consult as needed. Also, as we approach the Season’s Holidays and New Year I extend well wishes and good health to all.

God Bless our Country, our American Democracy and Constitution.

Fraternally,

R:.W:.. Mike Sinatra

Secretary
